How to Use Metallic Heat Transfer Vinyl?
1. Cutting the Vinyl
- Settings: Select "Iron-on", "Metallic", or "Light Cardstock" on your cutting machine (e.g., Cricut, Silhouette).
- Placement: Place the metallic HTV onto your cutting mat shiny (carrier sheet) side down.
- Mirror Image: Turn on the "Mirror" setting before cutting so the design appears correctly after application.
- Weed: Remove all excess vinyl around the design.
2. Preparing the Garment
- Pre-press: Press the garment for 2–3 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Placement: Position the design on the garment with the shiny side facing up.
3. Applying Heat
- Heat Press: 140–145°C (284–293°F) (8-10 seconds, medium pressure).
- Home Iron: Set between Cotton and Linen (no steam). Press firmly for 8-10 seconds.
- Peeling: Allow the vinyl to cool completely before peeling (cold peel).
4. Washing and Care
- Wait: Do not wash for at least 24 hours after application.
- Washing: Wash inside out in cold or warm water. Avoid bleach and dry cleaning.
