How to Apply Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl
What you'll need: glitter HTV vinyl, cutting machine (Cricut, Silhouette, etc.), heat press or iron, weeding tool, and your fabric.
1. Design & Cut
Create your design and cut the glitter HTV using a cutting machine (such as Cricut or Silhouette). Make sure to place the vinyl glitter side down and mirror the design before cutting.
2. Weed the Excess Vinyl
Remove all unwanted vinyl around your design using a weeding tool, leaving only the final glitter design on the carrier sheet.
3. Position on Fabric
Place the design onto your garment (T-shirt, hoodie, etc.) with the glitter side facing up. Align it carefully before pressing.
4. Heat Press Application
Apply heat using a heat press machine:
- Temperature: 140–145°C (284–293°F)
- Time: 8–10 seconds
- Pressure: Medium (3–5 kg)
Press evenly to ensure strong adhesion.
5. Peel Carrier Sheet
Depending on the product type, peel the carrier:
- Warm peel: remove when slightly warm
- Cold peel: wait until fully cooled before peeling
6. Final Press (Recommended)
Cover the design with parchment or Teflon sheet and press again for 3–5 seconds to improve durability.
